Disability and NDIS Physiotherapy

We bring mobile physiotherapy to your child’s home, school, or community, focusing on functional activities to improve daily participation and embed therapy into their routine.

How can we support?

With over 6 years experience in the NDIS sector, Explore Kids Physiotherapy can provide your child with high quality support to help them achieve their NDIS goals. Our extensive experience in complex disability and a strong knowledge base of the NDIS means we can jump straight into providing the service you need.

We focus our therapy around a family-centred model – developing goals with you, supporting your family in the way that best suits you, and building your capacity to achieve the best outcomes.

Our goal is to support your child to participate in a way that works for them and allow your child to have more freedom of movement. We do this by exploring barriers to participation, adapting the environment, utilising assistive technology or building capacity of the people around them so that your child can participate. We effortlessly fit within your child’s team including other therapy services and school supports to provide your child with holistic care.

Our approach

  • Play-based interventions
We believe that children learn best through play. Our team use play-based interventions to make therapy enjoyable and effective. These activities are designed to be fun and engaging, encouraging children to actively participate and develop essential skills.
  • Integrating skills into daily routines
Our goal is to seamlessly integrate these skills into your child’s weekly routines. By incorporating therapeutic strategies into everyday activities, such as dressing, mealtimes, and playground play, we help your child gain confidence and competence in physical skills throughout their day.
  • Multi-disciplinary team collaboration
We seamlessly work with your child’s therapy team, school supports, NDIS supports and medical professionals to ensure that your child has a strong cohesive team around them. We involve the necessary supports, communicating and collaborating regularly to be the most effective in our therapy.

Benefits of our Services

  • Active participation
We focus on participation in physical activities, sports and life. We aim to adapt the environment and build the capacity of the community to ensure that your child’s disability is not a barrier to their participation.
  • Assistive technology
We can explore, apply for and implement a range of assistive technology (equipment) to support your child’s disability including walkers, postural seating systems, customised bicycles/tricycles and much more!
  • Hydrotherapy
We offer water-based physiotherapy sessions at local community pools for your child to experience the benefits of the water and build their skills in a fun environment. We are an Autism Swim certified provider.
  • Tailored support
We know that every child is unique and has differing needs. We look at your child as a whole and create therapy strategies individualised to your child’s situation, using their strengths and interests.
